Take a different approach to a Black Friday detox this year with Yin yoga. Yin yoga is a passive, slow paced style of yoga designed to target the connective tissue in the body. Poses are held for prolonged periods of time (typically 3-5 minutes) to calm the nervous system, improve range of motion and flexibility, and cultivate a meditative state in both body and mind. This class is suitable for All-Levels. Please note, while the pace and format is similar to restorative yoga, the practice of Yin yoga provides a deeper, more challenging stretch.
In this introductory class, we will begin by exploring the principles of Yin yoga, how it works, and how it differs from our more active styles of yoga and exercise (yang). We will follow the discussion with a 45-minute practice to deepen your understanding and leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.
