Michelle Barnette returns for a weekend exploration of the Koshas. This workshop is a journey through all five layers of being: Body, Breath, Mind, Intellect, and Bliss. Koshas contribute to our perception of the world. Yoga works to purify these layers so that we can see clearly to experience true freedom and peace. Each session will include a lecture on the koshas and exploratory movement, and reflection. Breathwork and meditation will be introduced in subsequent layers. Bring a journal, pen, water, mat, and dress comfortably. This workshop is open and accessible to all levels.
Fri 7-9pm - The Layers of Being
This session introduces the five layers of being called koshas through which we experience the world and gain knowledge of the embodied self: Body, breath, mind, intellect and bliss.
Sat 1-3pm - Body and Breath
In these layers we MOVE (Annamaya) and BREATHE (Pranamaya).
Sat 5-7pm - Mind and Intellect
In these layers we REACT (Manomaya) and OBSERVE (Vijnanamaya).
Sun 1-3pm - Bliss
In this layer we ARE (Anandamaya). We will explore combining movement, breathing practices, meditation, and presence.
